Mackenzie LeePosition: Co-Programs Director Year & Major: 4th Year Biochemistry Major, Public Health Minor About me: As a wandering freshman, I remember making a spontaneous decision to attend APHC’s Welcome Week Boba Social. Looking back now, I couldn’t have made a better choice! From the moment APHC opened their arms to me, I knew I had found my home here at UCLA. Through this organization, I have grown so much personally and professionally alongside so many inspiring individuals. In my down time, I enjoy baking, hiking, and finding new music! Feel free to reach out and say hi! . Brittany TranPosition: Internal Director Year & Major: 4th Year Physiological Science Major About me: I was drawn to APHC after attending its first info session and watching its informational video parody of The Office! I immediately knew that APHC was a welcoming, supportive environment that I wanted to be a part of, and I'm so glad to have met so many amazing people who are passionate about healthcare and serving the API community. In my free time, you can find me playing tennis, fangirling about pop culture, and exploring new places to eat in LA. Feel free to reach out and say hi! Kelly LinPosition: Co-Health Fair Director Year & Major: 4th Year Physiological Science Major About me: I have been to many organizations’ info sessions and orientations, but after attending the APHC orientation, I knew I had to be a part of it. APHC has allowed me to directly help the community beyond what I thought I was capable of as a student. This organization has helped me grow professionally and personally, and it continues to do so. Gaining new experiences with all the wonderful people I met has allowed me to feel safe away from home. Outside of APHC, you can find me switching my major, eating, and lifting 5lbs at the gym! Feel free to hit me up whenever, I am absolutely down for anything! Anson CheungPosition: Research & Evaluations Director Year & Major: 4th Year Biochemistry Major Asian American Studies Minor About me: Going into my second year at UCLA, I had no idea APHC would become such a pivotal part of my time here. Through APHC, I not only met some of the most welcoming, supportive people but also learned about how prevalent health disparities were within API communities. Outside of APHC, you’ll probably find me trying out new coffee shops in LA, binge sleeping, figuring out what Netflix shows I should watch next, or crying about classes over Discord. If you ever see me around, don’t be a stranger – feel free to say hi or send me a DM! Jenna LaiPosition: Public Affairs Director Year & Major: 4th Year Physiological Science Major About me: Being in APHC since my freshmen year, I’ve grown so much as an individual through all the opportunities the org has to offer. Adjusting to college was hard, but I knew I found my second home after attending APHC’s orientation. APHC has been a place where I not only continue to grow professionally and personally but also a place to meet amazing people. I hope APHC will be that spark in your life as it has been for me! In my free time, I explore new music on Spotify, work out, and explore LA. Feel free to reach out and say hi! |
Jasmine TzengPosition: Co-Programs Director Year & Major: 4th Year Biochemistry Major, Biomedical Research and Public Health Minor About me: These past three years, APHC has given me so many wonderful memories and opportunities to grow. When I first came to UCLA, I felt overwhelmed by the stacks of flyers I got from the Enormous Activities Fair. If I'm honest, APHC's flyer only stood out to me because of the cute pandas on it. But after going to many info sessions, I understood why APHC was special -- it's truly a family. Outside of APHC, you can find me knitting/crocheting (like a grandma), binging Netflix shows while studying, and trying out yummy LA food. Hope to see all of your smiling faces around campus! Trinity VuPosition: External Director Year & Major: 4th Year MIMG Major, Asian American Studies Minor About me: Going into NSO and my first Enormous Activities Fair, it felt like an overwhelming wave of decisions and APHC was the beacon that got me through it. Throughout my time in APHC, I’ve met so many incredible people from students to professionals to service recipients and have been able to foster my passion for learning about and helping the API community. During my free time, you can catch me binge watching crime shows, thrifting, or taking and editing photos. Come say hi if you ever see me around or feel free to message me! Morgan GeePosition: Co-Health Fair Director Year & Major: 3rd Year Biochemistry Major About me: Having heard wonderful stories about APHC from my high school friend (now alumni director), I decided to join APHC my freshman year. While Zoom University™ was rough, members and directors alike made the environment incredibly welcoming throughout my first year of college. Ultimately, I grew to fall in love with the organization, the various programs and opportunities, and, of course, the people in it. An amateur guitar player and retired (not-so professional) LoL player, I spend my free time hanging out with friends, playing badminton (terribly), or being a couch potato and watching YouTube or Netflix. If anything sounds relatable (or even if nothing does heh), feel free to reach out and say hi! Richard LuPosition: Finance Director Year & Major: 3rd Year Biology Major About me: During my virtual freshman year, finding people to meet and things to meaningfully do looked next to impossible. After sitting on my hands for too long and nearly missing the application deadline, I finally decided to join APHC, and the rest is beautifully-chaotic history. Over the past two years, APHC's health fairs and events have provided me with invaluable experiences and opportunities to grow, and most importantly, I've made more memories and friends-for-life than I could ever imagine. Outside of APHC, you'll find me obsessing over SEVENTEEN (and Wonwoo!!), binging k-dramas with the time I don't have, and being the biggest F1 nut on the planet. Feel free to hit me up and say hi! Michael WongPosition: Student Affairs Director Year & Major: 3rd Year MIMG Major, Global Health Minor About me: With my first year at UCLA online, I remember anxiously jumping from Zoom to Zoom trying to see what clubs clicked with me. After stumbling upon APHC, I knew it was the right place as soon as I attended orientation, amazed by how many opportunities there were for students to take direct action and have that much-needed guidance and community navigating UCLA. Outside of APHC, you can catch me playing Spikeball, at the beach, playing League, exploring mountains, or shooting photos! I am always down to do anything anywhere so feel free to reach out! |
